Private Appliance sells new, used and reconditioned appliances and repairs any brand, out of 228 Putnam Pike in Johnston. Both halves are behind the same door, and they have been the whole business for about thirty years.

That is not a slogan, it is the building. The showroom floor is in front and the repair bench is behind it, which is why the person who takes your call has usually already seen your problem.
Sales
New, used and reconditioned stand on the same floor: washers, dryers, ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, freezers, wall ovens and cooktops. Three price levels of the same job, side by side, so you can weigh what you want against what you need without driving to a second store.
Service
Any brand, whether it came off this floor or out of a big-box store ten years ago. In-shop estimates are free. Tell us what it is doing — no spin, no heat, filling slow, tripping the breaker — and we will tell you what it takes to repair it before you commit to anything.

You will not find a founding year on this page. No founder’s name, no head count, no family history. Not because any of it is a secret — because printing a fact nobody has checked is how a shop ends up arguing with its own website, and after thirty years of repairing other people’s machines that is a poor place to start guessing.
What is checkable is all here: the address, the phone number, the hours, the awning, the truck in the lot, the bench behind the floor. Come stand in it. If you want the rest of the story, ask at the counter — that is where it lives.
