Washers in Johnston, Rhode Island

A washer that won't drain or spin turns into a laundromat bill fast. We sell new, used and reconditioned washers at the Johnston showroom, and we repair any brand — so the first question is always whether it is cheaper to repair the one you already own. Free in-shop estimates either way. Top-load and front-load are different machines to live with, so call ahead and ask what is on the floor before you drive over.

New, used and reconditioned on the floor. We repair washers too — any brand, and in-shop estimates are free.

What we carry

Washers — what we sell, and what we repair.

Stock turns over week to week, so the honest split is this: the first list is what was last confirmed on the floor, the second is the full range that comes across the bench.

On the floor

We carry washers. Which styles are in on any given day changes as pieces sell, and we would rather tell you on the phone than leave a stale list up here. Call (401) 232-9090 and we will walk the floor while you wait.

Types we work on

  • Top load with agitator
  • Top load high-efficiency (impeller)
  • Front load
  • Compact / apartment 24-inch
  • Portable
  • Heavy duty / commercial-style
Before you buy

Measure first. Then argue about the badge.

The things that decide which one fits your house, in the order they usually come up at the counter.

01

A top-loader with a traditional agitator is the simplest machine to live with and usually the cheapest to repair.

02

High-efficiency machines use far less water but need HE detergent and run longer cycles.

03

Front-load saves space under a counter and can be stacked, but the door gasket has to be wiped dry or it will smell.

04

Check the hookup first: hot and cold valves, a standpipe or laundry sink for the drain, and a standard 120V outlet.

05

Measure the basement stairs and the turn at the bottom, not just the laundry room.

06

Capacity is in cubic feet — around 4.5 and up will take a queen comforter.

The other half of the shop

We repair washers, too.

Any brand, whether it came from us or from somewhere else ten years ago, and in-shop estimates are free. These are the faults that come across the bench most often — if yours is on this list, get it looked at before you replace anything.

  • Won't drain, or leaves clothes soaking wet at the end of the cycle
  • Won't spin, or shakes hard enough to walk across the floor
  • Not filling — inlet valve failed or hose screens clogged
  • Leaking from the pump, a hose, or the front door gasket
  • Lid switch or door lock failure stopping the cycle partway
  • Burning smell, or a drive belt that's given out
  • Timer or control board not advancing through the cycle
  • Loud grinding on spin from worn bearings

Not sure whether it is worth repairing? That is the question a free in-shop estimate answers, and we will tell you when the answer is no.

Ask for a price

Ask about a specific machine.

Prices are set at the counter on the actual machine, so a phone call is the fastest way to get a real answer on a real unit instead of a range that means nothing.
