Dryers in Johnston, Rhode Island

Most dryer trouble comes down to one of three things: heat, airflow, or the belt. We sell new, used and reconditioned dryers and we repair any brand, so if yours is taking three cycles to dry one load, ask us before you replace it — that is usually a vent or a heating element. Electric and gas dryers are not interchangeable, so call ahead and tell us which one the laundry room is set up for.

New, used and reconditioned on the floor. We repair dryers too — any brand, and in-shop estimates are free.

A photograph of the shop, not of a listing. Used and reconditioned machines are one of a kind, so the unit you buy is the one you looked at.

What we carry

Dryers — what we sell, and what we repair.

Stock turns over week to week, so the honest split is this: the first list is what was last confirmed on the floor, the second is the full range that comes across the bench.

On the floor

We carry dryers. Which styles are in on any given day changes as pieces sell, and we would rather tell you on the phone than leave a stale list up here. Call (401) 232-9090 and we will walk the floor while you wait.

Types we work on

  • Electric vented
  • Gas vented
  • Stacked over a washer
  • Compact / apartment 24-inch
  • Ventless / condenser
  • Heavy duty large capacity
Before you buy

Measure first. Then argue about the badge.

The things that decide which one fits your house, in the order they usually come up at the counter.

01

Electric dryers need a 240V outlet. Gas dryers need a gas line plus a regular 120V outlet. They are not interchangeable.

02

Check whether your outlet is 3-prong or 4-prong before you buy — the cord has to match the wall, and cords are sold separately.

03

A crushed or lint-packed vent hose makes a perfectly good dryer look broken. Clear it before you replace anything.

04

Moisture sensing is easier on clothes than a straight timed dry, and it stops the machine running on empty.

05

If the dryer tucks under a counter or into a closet, measure the depth with the vent elbow attached.

06

A gas dryer costs less to run in most Rhode Island homes, but only if the line is already there.

The other half of the shop

We repair dryers, too.

Any brand, whether it came from us or from somewhere else ten years ago, and in-shop estimates are free. These are the faults that come across the bench most often — if yours is on this list, get it looked at before you replace anything.

  • No heat at all — heating element, thermal fuse, or gas igniter
  • Tumbles but clothes stay damp (restricted airflow or blocked vent)
  • Drum won't turn — broken belt or seized idler pulley
  • Loud thumping or squealing from worn drum rollers or a bad bearing
  • Shuts off partway through on a tripped thermal fuse or thermostat
  • Won't start at all — door switch, start switch, or push-to-start failure
  • Burning or scorched-lint smell

Not sure whether it is worth repairing? That is the question a free in-shop estimate answers, and we will tell you when the answer is no.

Ask for a price

Ask about a specific machine.

Prices are set at the counter on the actual machine, so a phone call is the fastest way to get a real answer on a real unit instead of a range that means nothing.
